when i burn folders to a cd using Nero it creates a file named "thumb" in each folder i want to know why this kind of file is created. and is it harmful ??
if it would be a virus, my anti virus program doesnt detect it, i m using "Norton Antivirus 2005" and latest definition is also downloaded.
if anybody knows about this problem then pls inform me what happens
thanks

It麓s not a virus it is a file Nero creates for the file to open properly.Indeed it麓s not harmful if you do not wanna see it just set it to a hidden status

it is not virus my friend. it is windows databse file and it stores nformation abt the icons of that folder. mean which folder shows which pic when it is seen in thumbnale view.
so dont worry.
That stands for "thumbnail" image. It makes a little picture of whatever file. It is not a virus. For music it is most likely a picture of the album cover if the information is retreived online.
dont worry .. its not a virus
no it's not virus.
first, do "show hidden files/folders" from "folder options"
now, at writing time, you can delete "thumb" from folders
