( I have Norton AntiVirus 2005, but it didn't remove the virus.)
I have Project 1 Virus on my computer. Is there a way I can remove it without buying software?computer repair
If you are updating your virus definitions regularly and performing regular routine file maintenance on your computer, there should be no reason why Norton's AV won't remove it. I believe this is a case of operator error. Your AV software prob hasn't been updated since it's been installed, and more than likely pirated software to begin with, since you seem to be too cheap to go buy you the 2006 version.

Go to Norton support site and find the manual steps to remove it.

Have you gotten the updates for your anti-virus software? that might be why Norton didn't remove it.
Otherwise, you're going to have to wipe your harddrive and reinstall everything- which is an even more expensive and irritating prospect.
I found this fix in a Forum.......

AVG is a free and VERY good anti virus program.
Remove Norton and download Avast Home edition (Free). It will ask if you want to run a scan on reboot. say yes and let it work it's magic.
I am assuming that you have paid your subscription to keep Norton up to date
try going to a website called housecall. it will scan and clean your computer for free. of course there are no guarantees that it will remove this particular virus. you might have to reformat you hard drive if you can't get rid of the virus.
