Norton antivirus 2005 not working. message "MSRedist.MSI" file missing. please help.?

Sometimes all you need to do is shut your PC down, wait about twenty seconds and restart. That's if the program has been working fine before. If not do the following:

If you have your disc, UN-install from Add/Remove Programs. Then re-install. If this installation was a download there is help at the Norton Anti-Virus Symantec site. If you need help with this, just follow prompts.

To remove Norton Anti Virus from your computer, you can use the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel.

During uninstallation, Windows may indicate that it is installing software. This is a standard Microsoft installation message and can be disregarded.

To uninstall Norton Anti Virus from the Windows Control Panel

Do one of the following:

On the Windows taskbar, click Start %26gt; Settings %26gt; Control Panel.

On the Windows XP taskbar, click Start %26gt; Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

In the list of currently installed programs, click Norton Anti Virus.

Do one of the following:

In Windows 98/Me, click Add/Remove.

In Windows 2000/XP, click Remove.

Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.

If asked to reboot...

Click Reboot Now, then click Finish.

Re-install using your disc.
