Uninstalled Norton Antivirus, now my computer is beserk?

My Norton Antivirus (2005) expired so I uninstalled it. Now my programs crash because they are "searching for norton" when I start them. Also my printer stopped printing! I do NOT want to renew my subscrition but how do I fix this problem?

u have alot of answers to choose from..this is what i would do

remove all norton products...now i would go add/remove in the control panel...remove any other antivirus or firewall u have installed.....turn on windows firewall...then go to c/program files...remove anything that u see that was in add/remove..these are the folders to the programs u just deleted

now go here and download the free avg antivirus

update this...make sure u have it set to realtime protection..u can do that in the options menu...do not scan with this yet either

i would now consider using a better firewall. zone alarm is one of the mostly used because it is about the best
