I m unable to open my hard disk drives in My Computer.?

I have Windows XP SP2 on my system, when I go to My Computer %26 open either of my hard disk drives it opens up the "Open With..." window. Earlier when I had Internet Explorer 6.0, I would select it %26 the drive would open up but now that I have IE 7.0, it doesn't open the drives. I am using Norton AntiVirus 2005 %26 regularly update it, so if its a virus, Norton would have detected it. I have tried Avast too but the problem still exists.

Try system restore, restore your pc to a time you believe it was performing well.

That is a very strange problem.

When you open MY Computer, Click on FOLDERS icon on the tool bar.

Then in the folders list click on the C: Drive and the contents of the C: drive should be displayed in the Right pane.

IE has nothing to do with My Computer or My Documents, The program that is doing the work is Windows Explorer. Which is my computer and my documents just with different views.

Try starting the computer in SAFE MODE and see if you still have the problem. IF the problem goes away then there is a problem with an installed program or a driver, (as they don't load in safe mode)
